PROTON Donates RM200,000 Worth of Drones to Support Nepal Flood Response

PROTON has contributed drones worth approximately RM200,000 to the Government of Nepal to support humanitarian and disaster response efforts following the recent floods.

The drones were handed over to the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) at the headquarters of the Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) in Pulau Meranti. They will be transported to Nepal as part of Malaysia’s ongoing humanitarian mission.

The equipment is expected to assist disaster response teams by providing aerial assessments of affected areas, particularly locations that are difficult or unsafe to reach from the ground. The information gathered can help authorities better assess conditions and plan the deployment of rescue teams and resources.

SMART will also provide training on how to operate the drones to the relevant Nepalese agency before the equipment is officially handed over.

PROTON said the contribution reflects its commitment to supporting communities affected by natural disasters and helping strengthen Nepal’s disaster response capabilities.

The company also has an established presence in Nepal through its authorised distributor, Jagdamba Motors, which represents the Proton e.MAS brand in the country.

PROTON expressed its solidarity with the people of Nepal and hopes the contribution will support the country’s ongoing humanitarian and recovery efforts following the floods.
