Nissan Kicks e-Power Undergoes Police Trial with PDRM

Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) has provided two Nissan Kicks e-Power vehicles to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for a two-month trial programme.

During the trial, the vehicles will be used for daily police patrols to see how well they perform in real working conditions. PDRM will check the vehicles' performance, fuel efficiency, comfort, and suitability for frontline police work.

Commissioner Redzuan Abd Hamid, Director of Bukit Aman Logistics and Technology Department, said the trial will help PDRM learn if the Nissan Kicks e-Power is a good choice for future police vehicles. The information collected will support future decisions on improving the police fleet.

Christopher Tan, Executive Vice President of ETCM, said Nissan's e-Power technology gives drivers the feel of driving an electric vehicle without needing to charge the battery. This makes it a practical option for organisations that need reliable vehicles every day.

The Nissan Kicks e-Power is driven 100% by an electric motor, giving smooth and quick acceleration. Its petrol engine is only used to generate electricity for the battery, so drivers can simply refuel at a petrol station instead of using a charging point.

The two-month trial will help both ETCM and PDRM understand how the Nissan Kicks e-Power performs in everyday police operations.
