PROTON e.MAS 5 Expands Global Reach with Nepal Launch

PROTON has officially launched the Proton e.MAS 5 in Nepal, further expanding the brand's global electric vehicle (EV) presence. The launch makes Nepal the second international market for the compact EV after its recent debut in Singapore.

Introduced by Jagdamba Motors, PROTON's authorised distributor in Nepal, the e.MAS 5 becomes the second Proton EV available in the country, following the arrival of the Proton e.MAS 7 in 2025.

Unlike Singapore, where only a single variant is offered, customers in Nepal can choose between the Prime and Premium variants. The Prime is powered by a 58 kW rear-mounted electric motor producing 130 Nm of torque, paired with a 30.12 kWh CATL LFP battery that delivers up to 225 km (WLTP) of driving range.

The higher-spec Premium variant features a more powerful 85 kW electric motor with 150 Nm of torque, combined with a 40.16 kWh battery that increases the WLTP driving range to 325 km on a single charge.

To celebrate the launch, Jagdamba Motors is offering special introductory prices for early customers. The Prime is available from 3.0 million Nepalese rupees, while the Premium starts at 3.5 million Nepalese rupees, lower than their standard retail prices.

Edmund Lim Meng Thong, Chief Executive Officer of Proton International Corporation Sdn Bhd (PICSB), said the expansion into Nepal represents another important milestone in PROTON's export journey and reflects growing international confidence in the Proton e.MAS brand.

Following strong demand in Malaysia and its growing overseas presence, the Proton e.MAS 5 continues to support PROTON's ambition of establishing the e.MAS brand as a recognised player in the regional EV
