BYD Seal finally launched in Malaysia by today!!!

BYD Seal is built on the original factory's e-platform 3.0. It's positioned as a D-segment sedan in the international market. The car's dimensions are 4,800 mm X 1,875 mm X 1,460 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm. Basically, it competes with the Tesla Model 3 in our country, given their similar pricing. With the BYD Seal's launch, the electric sedan market in our country may see intense competition.

In terms of looks, the BYD Seal follows BYD's "Ocean Aesthetic" design concept. It has a sleek, muscular appearance with the front and rear axles positioned towards the car's ends, giving it a dynamic and sporty look. It features C-shaped double U-shaped headlights and a fastback sloping roofline on the sides. At the back, it has distinctive continuous taillights and a large rear diffuser, giving it a unique design.

Both models (RWD and Performance AWD) have 19-inch wheels with 235/45 R19 tires. The torque distribution between the front and rear motors can be balanced at 50:50, enhancing the car's handling. With a turning radius of 5.7 meters, it can easily make U-turns in city driving, making it convenient for urban environments.

The new car is developed on the e-Platform 3.0, designed specifically for electric vehicles, featuring exclusive CTB (cell-to-body) technology. This allows for excellent interior space, including a 400-liter trunk capacity, and accommodates larger batteries while ensuring higher safety standards. It has received a 5-star rating in ANCAP tests, indicating good overall performance.

Ocean Aesthetic design concept extends to the Dolphin's interior, with smooth lines resembling ocean waves, providing a visually comfortable experience. The car features a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, it retains BYD's tradition of a rotatable screen. Other features like the HUD (head-up display), panoramic sunroof named "Sun Roof" and Dynaudio custom sound system are also available.

As for its power options, the car comes in two models: the rear-wheel-drive single-motor long-range version and the all-wheel-drive dual-motor performance version. Both are equipped with an 82.56 kWh blade battery and benefit from CTB battery chassis integration technology. This not only gives the car a low profile but also enhances its handling. BYD Seal supports 7 kW AC fast charging and up to 150 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes, ensuring quick recharging for continued journeys. Here are the performance and range details for each model:

RWD : 308 Hp + 360 Nm, 0 – 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, with a range of up to 650 km
AWD Performance: 523 Hp + 670 Nm, 0 – 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds, with a range of up to 580 km

Finally, the all-new BYD Seal has officially launched in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM179,800. The first 800 customers to order will receive a free Wallbox and RM 800 worth of Gentari or ChargeEV points. The warranty includes 6 years/150,000 kilometers for the vehicle, 8 years/160,000 kilometers for the battery pack, and 8 years/150,000 kilometers for the drive unit (such as motors), whichever comes first.
